Matt Specialists South Africa
Matt was inspired to live out his dream of living in Africa at a young age by his best friend’s family’s stories of Ethiopia and their safari adventures. He deferred university to volunteer for a year in Uganda with East African Playgrounds, where he took part in wildlife projects and also acted as a Gorilla Trek Coordinator Intern, taking groups of students up to see mountain gorillas in Bwindi. He then spent time with Modisa Wildlife Project in Botswana, where he took part in game captures and vulture-nesting studies, and fell in love with the unadulterated wilderness of this beautiful country. He has since returned to Uganda several times, trekking through all its great parks, and he has also worked on wildlife projects in Kenya and visited every other East African country.
